Pulitzer Recognizes Hank Williams!

News Flash!
Pulitzer Prize Awakes From 60-Year Coma, Honors Hank Williams!
In a stunning case of "what, this is just happening NOW?" the Pulitzer board posthumously awarded a special citation to Hank for his "craftsmanship as a songwriter who expressed universal feelings with poignant simplicity and played a pivotal role in transforming country music into a major musical and cultural force in American life."  Translated for our friends in Kentucky, they said "Damn, that Williams boy sure did write some good drinkin' songs! Pass the moonshine!"
Pulitzer recognized Williams' achievements in a ceremony held last Monday at Columbia University (a bastion of......stuff),  attended by Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum VP of museum services Carolyn Tate (who represented Hank, Jr.), and Williams' daughter, Jett Williams.
In a statement, Jett Williams said a bunch of stuff that generally amounted to "Thanks, Pulitzer people". Hank Jr. was unable to attend due to prior commitments of ruining his legacy by recording with Kid Rock,  making a video for the Monday Night Football song, and shooting guns. If "Howdy Pardner" was writing his statement, he would have said "Hopefully, Pulitizer recognition is a Family Tradition...." And then he would have chugged a mason jar of moonshine, and fired several shots into the air and then the crowd.
Because we are pretty sure that's how Hank (Jr. AND Sr.) rolls.
